It was simply disabling the plug and play policy - which by doing that would in theory give users the option select extra devices to redirect in an options menu. USB Redirector RDP Edition allows to use your local USB devices inside a Remote Desktop session on a Terminal Server or Virtual Machine. Shortly after I made this post, another tech and I configured RemoteFX group policy for the virtual desktops. We got scanner and foot pedals to redirect to this client's VMware desktops (our intention is move them off of local esxi hardware to the cloud), so I'm really hoping WVD can do the same.
